Say goodbye to one size fits all. Commoditization used to mean bland uniformity, but these days it's going the other way. Now answer me this question: why do computers only come in two colors?
  • Probably the mod lobby.
  • Computers come in tons of colors if you are a gamer. Here is an example (I've nver bought from them, mainly BECAUSE of the garish colors in their print ads). However, before we get carried away with all this false choice, we should remember the Nike Sweatshop shoes which serves for an example that despite the customization promised us, we can only have what they give us.
  • This is awesome in some senses but what allows this customization is the internet. Now, in some ways, this is awesome, but when you get down to it, do you really want to spend 500 dollars on a pair of gorgeous cowboy boots (http://caboots.zoovy.com/product/BLOSSOM) or four times that on a suit if you can't try it on? When you get down to it, for stuff that matters, you need to be there to see it.
  • My computer is green, because I built it myself and bought a green case. I even got the keyboard and mouse to match.
  • why do computers only come in two colors? I commend all Mac users in this thread for an admirable display of restraint.
