• Sure you can give people blowjobs with braces. You just have to be careful. Especially if you have the kind with the spiky bits at the back. If the guy is one of those types who starts thrusting away before the big finish, well he'll learn not to that's all. As far as being put off by braces, it would kinda vary from person to person one suspects. Smiling though is something you might want to watch. If the braces are purely for cosmetic reasons, then eventually your pearly whites will be shiny and straight. By then though, you'll have gotten into the habit of not showing them. If people are worth worrying about doing any of the other stuff to/with, then a bit of metal isn't going to scare them away.
• I have braces (corrective blah-blah after a motorbike accident) and will be getting them off at the end of next month, yay! I do think as an adult with braces people tend to treat me differently than they might otherwise. But the biggest problem is that I play a fair bit of sports and there's nothing worse than getting hit in the mouth when you have a row of somewhat spiky metal between your teeth and lips. One of the reasons I'm doing a correspondence course instead of working at the moment (aside from wanting to be home with my son) is that I felt sort of silly interviewing for jobs with braces, and thought they were reducing my chances of getting a job in which I'd be interacting with customers. Since I'm married, my dating average has remained the same, and I'm not going to comment on the rest of your questions except to say I wouldn't let braces hamper your, er, intimate moments.
• Even Jaws found love. Has anyone tried the ones that go on the inside of the teeth? I have a slight malocclusion due to tongue thrust (it's not as sexy as it sounds) and I'd like to have 'em cranked back a few inches. Although my elective surgery budget is zero and I want would want lasik first anyway.

• I had braces for two years, and couldn't give a damn blowjob away! Y'all boyz is damn pussies! That, of course was in my civilian days, not in my current career... However, as a grim, yet interesting side note, I had extensive jaw surgery (both jaws broken, top jaw shortened, lower broken and rotated horizontally) to line my shit up before getting the braces and so have a veritable whack of plates, pins and titanium screws in my jaw bones. One of these screws worked its way through my gum just below the gum line under my last molar bottom right. So yeah. I have about an eighth of an inch of the mean end of, basically, a wood screw pointing into my mouth. So far haven't maimed anyone. But then, of course, I own and consult "The Ultimate Guide To Fellatio" on a regular basis. Chapters. $26. Highly recommended.
• My first crush had braces. Having had no previous experience with braces, I quickly went from having no opinion about them to finding them the sexiest thing in the world. That was in grade 7, and I never did get up the nerve to ask her out. I don't really no any adults with braces, but I can't imagine I'd feel differently about them now.
• moneyjane! whoa! good for you for braving all that. what an adventure, eh? i'm 44 and have always had eerily straight teeth. that bothered the shit out of me in junior high, when all the COOL kids had braces. i used to fashion braces from paper clips and walk around the house feeling trendy. really. i do have porcelain veneers ("ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front of teeth") to cover my tetracycline-stained teeth. they're great and i love them. now then, ramix. as far as being self-conscious: i always love to see folks in wheelchairs that are all decorated up and sporting snotty bumperstickers (generally something about "gimps") and people with canes that are all psychodelic and stuff. have fun with it! be proud of your braces!!! look at how happy this chick looks! and i do believe her beau appears quite eager for a blowjob.

I would think that that a smile with braces is going to be far more appealing than no-smile and no braces showing. • I second Savannah's sentiments. You think you're being discreet in covering your mouth, but that sort of action is very noticeable and immediately comes across as a bit...weird.
• Show your braces! Be proud! Many people grew up in families that couldn't afford good orthodontic care. That you care enough about yourself as an adult to undergo that process is very admirable. I don't personally think braces affect a person's attractiveness at all. Children tease because they're children. Period. You're a grown up now. I've never once in my life heard ONE SINGLE adult say anything negative about braces and I've known plenty of adults who've had braces. In fact, one of my good friends who is 31 is wearing them right now. Wearing braces shows you care about your teeth and care about your appearance - not the opposite! Anyone who doesn't respect you for wearing braces is a numbskull. Wearing braces makes you MORE attractive because it shows how much you care about your appearance and teeth.
• Like SideDish, when I was young I was always jealous of the kids that got to wear braces. They always looked so cool. It's definately a hang-up you should hang-up! :)
• I've never dated anyone with braces, but if the girl is naturally beautiful anyway, braces wouldn't bother me. I would also be looking forward to the nice surprise when they do come off.
• A few years ago I saw a site for a makeup line by Isabella Rosellini. It contained wonderful images of beautiful women, all ages, colors, sizes and shapes. My favorite pic was of a young woman with braces. She was sporting brilliant red lipstick and a fabulous shit-eating grin. • Personally, braces would make me nervous about a blowjob. While they wouldn't scare me away, I would definately be cautious. As for attractiveness, I find them a curiousity, but not a real turn-off.
