Frontier Psychiatrist
(RealVideo) by The Avalanches may well be the best music video of all time. An old lady on the drums, a talking turtle, and a skeleton DJ. What more could one ask for?
-
As long as you are posing the question, I would ask that their video be in some other format like mpg. RealVideo sucks.
-
Here you can find it, in .mov format, at two sizes. Best video? Don't know... many of the stuff available at the mentioned site, from Spike Jonez, Chris Cunningham, Gondry, Shinola, Tomato, etc., would be more fitting to that title. Btw, here's Rammstein's latest, Amerika. The lyrics aren't the more literate ever, and I don't like their music that much, but the imagery, like in their previous 'Mutter' clip is quite interesting. Is it all a hoax? Are we all really living in 'America', now?

You're kidding right? It can't be the best ever by virtue of the fact that the band or someone associated with the band allowed it to be broadcast in Real. No one that uses Real for anything can be all that good. And the Avalaches have always been the Aussie lovechild of a night of passion between Fat Boy Slim and Beck. No, not a pretty picture. And I've never quite got the point of that song, and that video ceratinly doesn't help clear anything up. Just because you can put in a smaple, doesn't mean you should include that sample. It could use some real cleaning.

Flagpole You're not going to be selling Amway next are you?
-
Oh, yes, sorry about that... I explain my multi-postiness here, at the blog. I blame that nasty bug, of course :P

Flagpole: That first link of yours is truly amazing. I've just spent, literally, three hours watching some amazing music videos. Very much appreciated. Is it just me, or would most people pay good money to subscribe to a music TV station that would play genuinely good videos like that? They're works of art, man. It's criminal that these never get shown on TV. Oh, and back to the matter at hand, my pick for best ever music video would go to Squarepusher's 'Come on my Selector', which ironically is not listed in the aforementioned link.

A few of those vids I've watched at local channels, on short-lived, off-hours shows. Also, at MTV and other cable/sat venues, again at ungodly hours, as 'filler'. Played once, and never again. And, I stand to my comment , when this site was first posted here, on MoFi. That was a great find by Uncle, indeed.
