Fahrenheit 9/11 with a twist of Happiness? If you have ever questioned what makes people happy, then you are not alone. Four filmmakers also wondered this and have actually made a documentary film out of it. What they did was travel all over the US to ask random people questions about happiness. The movie clips at the website look great. The trailer should be up soon. The film is called One Happy Movie (www.onehappymovie.com) and is supposed to be out Friday, September 10th. Happiness on the weekend of the anniversary of September 11th well see.
  • I'll probably go see this since it's playing in Miami. That being said, self-linking/using *filter sites as a way to advertise for one's own projects is considered poor form. From the FAQ: Self linking isn't cool, kiddies, and we've disallowed self-links as the main link in posts. As a secondary link, or a link in a comment, it's fine. But we don't want to see you linking to your blog right up there on the front page, okay? good luck with the project, and please don't take my critique personally; it's just that advertising is not really the purpose of this site.
  • The movie clips at the website look great. Oh great... I'm glad there's an objective voice to tell me about this movie. I enjoy it when self-promotion is the point of a post.
  • I for one welcome our new Pepsi Blue Overlords.
  • Fahrenheit 9/11 with a twist of Happiness? So, we'll get to see dead soldiers and civilians with a happy smile on their charred bodies? Low, low, I know... Self-promotion: bad. But at least this post will be a space for mockery and other monkey shenanigans. Heppy Clips on WMV format: Now that's punishable by flogging with a electrical cord. And feeling smug and happy because even a homeless guy is happy is, well, somewhat disturbing...
  • And hey, if the movie has nothing but clips how the things that make ME happy, it should really earn the "Spreading Happiness Tour" monicker. 'Nuff said.
  • Hey guys, be sure and check out my new film, KITTENS 9/11! it tested much higher than my original cut, Kittens 451. *is there an emoticon for "shill" yet?*
  • Heavily influenced of course by the classic distopian scifi epic, Grizzly Bear 451.
  • I'll shift this to the double-post category rather than delete it completely. But it does look rather like the user joined specifically to post it, based on their username, which is disappointing. Ah well. If it's good, maybe we'll do another post. Personally, what would make me happy is a cure for colds. Fourth this winter, dammit.
  • Personally, what would make me happy is a cure for colds. Get really fucking drunk. That always works.
  • Meh.. The film looks interesting, so I'll probably see it. Meantime, you should all check out Where Are We?, a similar but less euphoric-minded project. (No, I had nothing to do with the production of this movie.)
  • tracicle, down some good scotch. Really helps. Add it with tea, drink it morning, noon and night. You'll feel better, you'll feel better about feeling shitty and you'll sleep great!
  • Amaretto in regular tea makes tea that tastes like blueberries. I don't know why, but it is very tasty. Though I have met a chemist who couldn't drink it - smelled too much like cyanide to her.
  • I have a lovely bottle of amaretto syrup (I assume it's non-alcoholic flavoured stuff rather than the real thing) that my mother-in-law gave me, and it's tasty even in crap instant coffee. Must buy the real stuff sometime. I could imagine a chemist feeling that way - I can't think of almond-flavoured anything without thinking of all the true-crime books I read as a teenager.
  • So... did anyone actually see this happy little film?
