Ghost stories Ghost stories haunt the moonlit backroads of the American South. Their roots in Southern culture and folklore are deep.

I enjoy this site, perhaps you will too.

  • I love ghost stories. This one is getting bookmarked! Thank you, great link! )))))
  • This is great fun! Best read late at night, with the lights down low... I was saving this link for Halloween, but what the heck- here's the Devil's Tramping Ground. (Flash and Geocities, so please be gentle)
  • Got bats in my belfry So you don't have to sell me On how alluring a ghost tale can be! Let them manifest as Grey Gloom While they haunt a guestroom -- I love to hear of last night's rumpus. Give me play-by-plays of each thump, as We sit next morning over breakfast tea, How the ghost came without warning -- Tell me of each shriek and groaning, As for your neck those boney fingers clutch, No, doesn't bother me! No, it doesn't bother me! Not much!
  • zedediah, cool link. Thanks. I just love ghost stories. Halloween is my favorite time of year. I start getting ready for the night in August. I throw a block party, with a haunted house for all the kids. Great fun.
  • Oohh, I love ghost stories. Thanks for the link. And zedediah, I really enjoyed Devil's Tramping Ground. I especially liked The Banshee and Stranger Pilgrims.
  • One of my faves has always been Castle of Spirits. "True" ghost stories from around the world. Some are pretty bad (I always click away as soon as the author says "I've always had a psychic sensitivity..."), but some are gold. Handily, there's a "favorite stories" link that gives you the best ones. Good stuff.
  • Tenaciouspettle, thanks for the link.
