Where are you spending New Year
  • "somewhere in the vast piles of paperwork, CD's, incomplete rebate slips, and houseplants near the computer"?
  • Every winter, my neighbor grooms a ski trail [PDF] in our field, lining the loop with luminaria. There may be bonfires, too, fuel and weather willing. If we can stay awake we'll see in 2004 out there. Less bucolically, we're still working on our plans to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. Many members of my gym perform the Lion Dance, so maybe we'll wander down to Seattle's Chinatown and watch that.
  • goetter, there seems to be a problem with your first link? i'd love to see that pdf!
  • Looks like the SSNSA moved their grooming guide. Grumble.
  • oo! cool. i'm trying to get into better shape so i can do that with my guy. nordic skiing, i mean.
  • MissusFes bombs out by 10, usually, so we've got 7:30 reservations here with three other couples. Maybe not the blowouts of days of yore, but a couple bottles of wine and some convivial conversation has charms at least equal to firing my gun into the sky and bragging about my impending hangover.
  • With the holidays upon us, Zagat Survey conducted a poll to find out where people plan to ring in 2004. When asked "Where do you plan to celebrate New Year's Eve?," more than 1,500 surveyors responded: * 46% Their own home * 24% Someone else's house * 13% At a bar, club or lounge * 13% In a restaurant * 4% Outdoors
  • I'll be going to my parents' place and we'll be taking the Little Monkey to this carnival and fireworks thing, if he can stay awake that long.
  • Well, good to know we're doing this sort of thing, two years later.
