Ready to Ruuuuumble! Battlefield Academy is a fun wee turn-based strategy game with four relatively simple scenarios. From the fine folks at the BBC.

  • Stop the Romans from capturing your Celtic hill-fort
  • Eliminate your Wars of the Roses rival in a river-crossing battle
  • Hammer the French fleet in a Napoleonic sea battle
  • Defend the UK from the Luftwaffe

  • BBC has brilliant games sometimes: Tardis Tennis and frogger with London commuters, but my favourite is Lawmakers!, where you try to get a bill of your chosing through Scottish Parliament. OK, that doesn't sound very thrilling but I like it. I'm always trying to legalise prostitution and drugs; 's quite fun really. Anyway, Battlefield Academy = good fun too (though my credibility may be shot by that whole Parliament game = fun thing).
