  • By the way, if anyone likes to read Hemingway and hasn't read Death in the Afternoon, I think it's his best book, so go read it like now. (And thanks for the links!)
  • It certainly beats The Sun Also Rises. Like wading thigh-high through custard, that one.
  • Anyone wishing to read a fictional account of bullfighting try Matador by Barnaby Conrad. For an autobiographical account by one of the great bullfighters, look for Juan Belmonte: Killer of Bulls.
  • Hemingway is way overrated. It needs to be said that while Rhoda's bullfighiting ring (and related museum) are sorta engaging, the gorge and the story behind the bridge over it are at least as interesting.
