Curious George: Big mouths in New York. No, I'm not referring to verbal behavior. Rather I've been noticing a pattern with typical Caucasian women from the northeast U.S. having larger mouths and fuller lips, compared to those here in Texas.

I've been wondering whether this might be ascribed to ancestral differences up north, and thus anthropomorphological differences (though from what country I'm not sure). I realize this is all kind of blurry since people in the U.S. move all over the place, but this observation seems pretty consistent whenever I go to NY. Am I out in left field on this? What personal features do you notice that are oddly different across a region or country?

  • Collagen implants?
  • (above comment as a reason for fuller lips)
  • and to think, i thought everything was bigger in texas.
  • Stynxno - you mean this?
  • hmm...might have to do with the fact that the population is really mixing it up in here (black, white, latino) resulting in ever fuller lips. and asses, and everything else that's good. maybe it's just collagen
  • Havent noticed this much in Maine.
  • So. My father's family is from NJ (orig. Ireland and England [possibly there from Hungary]) and my mother's is all good ol' Penn Deutsch and I have a gigantic mouth with big ol' lips; my good girl's fam is all Penn sorts and she's got the smallest mouth I've ever seen, medium-lipped. There's a little rumor (that I don't know who started) that we've some African in us, my family, but who knows.
  • A veiled attack on Jennifer Coolidge?
