The Degree Confluence Project The goal of the project is to visit each of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world, and to take pictures at each location. There is a confluence within 49 miles (79 km) of you if you're on the surface of Earth.

  • Interestingly I saw the Slashdot thread on it last week and was surprised to see all the negative comments. I have to say that the Confluence project is pretty unique and ultra-geeky. Pointless, sure, but interesting and educational nonetheless.
  • Sheez. One must be very unlucky for his/her own house to fall on a confluence point and having to deal with regular ultra-geek visits (well, just three so far). I also like the one that falls inside a weapons testing range and the one on a golf course.
