so you have a gaping wound, and don't know what to do? well, you can bleed to death. Or, thanks to potatoes, you can keep on living.
  • Mmm, that's interesting news.
  • "It's bio inert, so it cannot react with the body. If the patient is on medications, no matter what the variables are with the patient's history, this component will not react adversely." I would like to know more about this. Something to research. I wonder about allergic reactions...hmmm
  • I wonder if there's an Atkins-friendly version.
  • doesn't inert mean that it won't any type of reaction, whatsoever? not even allergic ones? hmmm....I'll have to look it up.
  • lol..."and now introducing the "Powder meat" blood clotter, for the Atkin's diet lover. "But I'm on Weight Watchers?!" not to worry! the "Ricecake powder" at only 1/2 points is the obvious choice for you! Plase, bleed your sweet heart out. We have a blood clotter just for you!!!!!!!"
  • My family has always used shredded potato to treat severe sunburns. I guess the same properties are at work. Who da thunk it? I guess my granny wasn't crazy after all.
  • Quid, here's your Atkins-friendly battlefield dressing.
  • Thanks goetter. Hmm, bandages laced with a mixture of ground shrimp shells and vinegar ... sounds delicious!
  • Contains no human or animal proteins — hypoallergenic Still haven't found any reference to possibility of an allergic reaction due to plant allergies. HMMM....still looking.
  • PotatoFilter? /ominous music (I love you SideDish)
  • Quid and Dish: CRACK ME UP ALREADY! But if you don't bleed, where's the gravy? Haven't ever heard of potato allergies, but I suppose there could be. Kimdog: My mom was a nurse, and she used to shred cukes--draws the hurt and feels very nice. Smells good, too.
  • apparently there are those who are allergic to potatoes (google: potato allergies) due to the starch in it. This new product, however, doesn't derive from the starch. you know? whenever we'd bang our heads against things 'grams would take a potato and stick it right in the wound... lol...Kimdog, I think they've known it all along. (I guess this generation won't be able to take credit for that discovery)
  • Too true, Warrior. It's amazing how often folk rememdies are eventually found to have a firm scientific basis. I also learned to use Epsom Salts for everything from sore feet to a sore throat from her.
  • I love you SideDish Damn you Mfpb 2 21! I HAVE A CRUSH ON SIDEDISH! We must fight!
