Flogging Molly - A Guiness Soaked Musical Body Blow More of my favorite music I'd like to share with the Monkeys. Any other fans among you?
  • They had a concert here actually. They put on a good show. I really like the music on death valley queen for some reason.
  • Thats one of my favorite songs Pez. Also love "Another Bag Of Bricks".
  • I am definately a fan of Flogging Molly. The song "Devil's Dance Floor" always gets me going. And "Far Away Boys" is one that I tend to play and sing when no one is around to hear.
  • This post and the Big + Rich post have got me thinking... How about a band homepage recommendation day (similar to our conspiracy and pee days of yore)?
  • Of the genre, they are my favorite. However, I'm still mad that I didn't win the customised Flogging Molly themed Vespas. You might want to check out Filthy Thieving Bastards which features members of the Swingin' Utters and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
  • I recently got turned on to Flogging Molly, as well as Dropkick Muphys. I kinda like it... Irish Punk rock. I've seen some people comparing them to the Pogues (who I am not familiar with) or Sex Pistols. I have to disagree with the comparison to SP, because I never really liked them.
  • Jim: I do recommend you become familiar with the Pogues. Shane MacGowan = fucked up musical genius, from whence much of Dropkick/Flogging-type inspiration sprang. [Stiff Little Fingers I also like, as far as "Irish Punk/Rock" - I'm bad at categorisation though, I frequently get it wrong]
  • Flogging Molly have been one of my favorite live acts for years. Lead singer Dave Kingman looks like a game show host. FACT: He was also the lead singer of a moderately successful 80's hair metal band.
  • oh, i am such a fan! they played at an outdoor festival here last summer and it was awesome!
  • ilyadeux- Stiff Little Fingers has been one of my favorite bands since I was in 6th grade. For those of you who have not heard of them, their early stuff (late 70s/early 80s) is an amazing punk with a bit of ska (sort of like how the Clash is punk with a bit of reggae). Inflammable Material is probably my favorite album.
  • I'm not a die-hard fan, but I do enjoy their music. I personally prefer the Pogues.
