Marlon Brando: Beyond Destitute
Just featured 3 days ago in someone else's FPP, he died last night, at 80, in an LA hospital. Sad ending for a great actor.
-
it's a pity. he coulda been a contender. *ducks, runs*
-
Not a moderate human being, perhaps, but an actor of stature. Madness in his method, perhaps -- I always liked him in One-Eyed Jacks despite the echoing lack of critical acclaim.
-
i swear after i heard the guy over the cube say that he died I went to both CNN and google news and found bupkis. Nada. Zip. Hey STELLLAAAAAAAA!!
-
You know, I usually just roll my eyes when the blogsphere gushes over a recently deceased celebrity. But when I read this FPP, my heart felt heavy. I don't really care if he lost a little in the last few films. He's the guy who taught us the heartbreak of failure, showed us that family values don't necessarily mean purity, proved that love can be blind and anonymous, and showed us a glimpse of the depths of madness twice. He's arguably the greatest actor of cinema, and was infinitely influencial on multiple generations of actors. His contribution to film can hardly be overstated.

CNN Obit I think I'll watch a few of his films this weekend in tribute.

beauty post shawnj

:(.
-
Heard the rumour this morning, didn't post it because the source seemed... not entirely trustworthy. Sad.
-
Saw this on the blue and wanted to post "I loved him in Citizen Kane" but decided it might not "play" there.
-
Bummer. Brando long ago turned into a parody of himself, but he was younger he was beautiful, stunningly talented and a tremendous character. He will be missed. RIP
-
Very sad. Turbulent as his life was, he was one hell of an actor.

First thing I heard while waking up today, courtesy of the radio alarm. Well, it's the law of nature, but still, it's hard to see oner's youth icons die. Bye, Don Corleone. Btw, shawnj, that was beautiful.
-
oner's = one's >P
-
Here's Larry King interviewing Brando.
-
I loved him in Citizen Kane That's weird. You just freaked me out. I was thinking of posting this joke while reading the story: Damn, I heard he was going to be in the sequel to Transformers the Movie.
-
Yes, death is a sad - though common - ending.
-
It's the only ending. Unless you know something we don't, bernockle. I'm gonna miss him. Even though the first time I ever saw him was those few minutes in Superman. Rest in peace, Jor-El.

Why Brando The Great Died Decades Ago
