Lake Maracaibo is being endangered by duckweed. Around 12% of the lake is completely covered.
  • Duckweed removal may not give the desired solution, there are pros and cons. Question: where are the ducks of Lake Maracaibo? Have they been slacking or what?
  • Have they found the tanker yet?
  • wow. aquatic venezuelan kudzu.
  • Despite this being a difficult situation, it's not a terrible disaster in my view. At least not everything is dying: it's a green problem - it demonstrates that the Earth is still a living, fighting force. A much more serious situation would be the lake becoming devoid of all life altogether.
  • A much more serious situation would be the lake becoming devoid of all life altogether Um, that's what happens when the duckweed takes over entirely. Sure, you have duckweed, but you have nothing else alive at all.
