Fiona Apple's new album may have been shelved by Sony, but that won't stop the music. The title track from her oft-delayed album has been leaked and can be downloaded here. [Via pop (all love)]

If that linky goodness should dry up you can use mine.

  • Wow, thank you IgnoratSlut! Very cool. I really hope this album is permitted to see the light of day.
  • Oooooooooh oh my god oh god thank you so much. Thank you SO MUCH. *drool* I've been waiting for this album so expectantly for years. I now have very, VERY high hopes.
  • This track is so ella fitzgerald reminiscent. It's a nice outgrowth of her covers of standards I've been finding here and there.
  • Covers and standards? Say what? Do tell! Wanna share? And after the second or third listen and having read the lyrics I found it a little Seussian. I'm completely captivated by it.
  • I liked it and my wife and 22 year old daughter went ga-ga over it. What is Sony's problem? It's got an extrememly retro sound (as in Rosemary Clooney) and showcases her vocals wonderfully. TrĂ©s cool.
  • Well, shit, they should just go ahead and leak all the rest. We'll find a single for 'em. Stoopid execs.
  • Holy... I hope this sees the light of day, because if it's anything like this track, I'm going to eat it up.
  • okay kids - here's another track: A Better Version of Me.
  • Two words. Fuck. Sony. That is of course, if they end up shelving this. Based on these two tracks, I know I'd run to get a copy.
  • I'm right there with you shawnj. They'll turn out piles and piles of dreck - but something a little original and they can't imagine it. This is why I don't buy music from major labels anymore.
