Cracks in the Pavement Art is placed at various urban sites in Austin and London. Find an object through the web site, which shows pictures of landmarks near the art but no pictures of the art, or you might just stumble onto a piece somewhere.
  • Excellent. Oh no! I've got to wait until 30 July! * ...drums fingers impatiently... *
  • It's like the GPS-assisted game where you search for random stuff. Geocaching, I think, it's called.
  • "Have you got any idea how we can make art more accessible to the masses?" "I know! Let's hide it in hard-to-find places, and give people only the most subtle clues about how to find it!"
  • Even Better: Paint the hard-to-find places and then hide the paintings in those places. Makes sure to put the paintings in obnoxiously colored plastic bags so they don't get wet, dirty, or so someone else doesn't accidentally paint over them.
  • I think needing a map to find art kind of takes the edge off of its...um...arthood, but then again, Cheap Date!
  • From the guestbook: Describe what you found: A garbage bag filled with cardboard sandwich containers, discarded onion slices, and french fries Where did you find it?: Wendys dumpster, Parmer lane What were your first impressions of it?: I dont think this was the piece of art. Has it changed since you took it home? How?: The smell has gotten a little worse.
