I've got one of the 250 oz giant lava lamps, and it's getting hard to find good 100W bulbs. All I can find nowadays is the crappy Philips Director bulbs, which are (1) far cooler than 100W spot bulbs used to be, thus they barely melt the lava, and (2) they consistently burn out in like 50 hours of use. Last year I ran through three packs of them in two months before giving up.
