Beastie Boys Exclusive live performance of the new single Ch-Check It Out. Also, and interview and links to several videos (like the brilliant Sabotage.) Also, here's a link to the song In A World Gone Mad. [media link]
  • I bought this single last week, but forgot, and its been sat in my bag since last Monday. This post reminded me that I'd actually bought it. Cheers, Sullivan. Its not that good, though.
  • I like the new song. The video is funny.
  • Yeah, the video's excellent. Especially the Kirk v Spock fight.
  • Dng, did you watch the live interview or performance? The Beasties are looking really old.
  • They certainly are. Its almost 20 years since License to Ill, now, isn't it?
  • "Mike D is a rasin of his former self." said my friend. My other buddy ran into him in Chinatown and he was horrified. Poor guy. The Beastie Boys went to my high school (years before I did), and every now and then they put references to it in their videos. Part of Ch-Check It Out, is filmed in front of the new building. I fear for the new album though. I didn't really like the last two singles they put out...
  • And, don't you all look older than you did 20 years ago?
  • I don't look like Mike D. MCA and Ad Rock have aged well. Mike D (shakes monkey head in dismay.) I think it will be hard for people that grew up with them to get the image of the boys from the License To Ill videos out of their heads. Imagine what people that grew up with Elvis had to go through.
  • I was lucky to get in on the early Elvis. (Cue Heartbreak Hotel.) Did anyone listen to his stuff after he tanked?
  • Its almost 20 years since License to Ill It's... it's true. *HOWL* I'm having a hard time matching the snot-nosed, punky Beasties sound with the middle-aged reality. Hadn't seen any of these. Looks like they had fun making that Sabotage viddy.
  • Can't be much worse than the Offspring or, oh dear, U2.
  • Entertainment Weekly gave the new album a B+, so I'm encouraged.
  • I got the new album today and it is totally awesome. More electronic than the last. I also got tickets to see them in DC on Thursday!! WOOO HOOOO! I am soooo psyched.
  • An Open Letter to NYC is FANTASTIC. The rest... not quite so hot.
