Is Pitchfork the death of Print Music Journalism?
-
Really funny stuff.
-
From Captain Psycho's excellent link: For discerning music geeks, Pitchfork has indeed morphed into the Holy Grail Say what? Bwahahaha. I'm one of Pitchfork's 90,000 daily readers. Could never resist an invitation to point and laugh.
-
I pay too much attention to Pitchfork. Unfortunately, it sometimes turns out that they're correct about things.
-
Sing along with me: If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere, It's up to you, Pitch-fork, Pitch-fo-o-ork!
-
All you have to do to read some of the Pitchfork reviews for Radiohead records, and you realize that these people are talentless hacks. Worthless wastes of biological material. I have never seen proper prose-masturbation until I saw Pitchfork. Sometimes they'll have good reviews, but on the whole, they have no clue. They called tracks on Death Cab For Cutie's last album "stadium rock", which proves they've never actually been to a stadium rock concert. They hate anything that gets success, save Radiohead. They hate anything that repeats itself, save Radiohead. They compared Radiohead albums to stillborn infants in outerspace. What the fuck? I love Radiohead, but I actually become ashamed to be a fan when I read Pitchfork. God Almighty. Popmatters.com serves the same purpose, has more mainstream stuff, and hires writers who can actually write. Something Awful hit it home with their satire. It's utterly true, everything they said.
-
After reading this, I'm a bit frightened. Maybe I shouldn't have linked to Something Awful. Stupid, crazy fuckers.
-
it may just be satire, but I want a copy of Pain Funnel's "Love is Dead and Blind and Dead".
