Franz Ferdinands fans
are a bunch of f*cking idiots. NME Readers and Franz Ferdinand fans submit interview questions. Hilarity ensues:"Do you like tractors and other farming things?"
-
You may have been expecting too much of NME. Q: did anyone else get sick of Franz Ferdinand's relentless use of the DiscoBeat after two listens of the CD?
-
It's not my favorite cd, but I am a fan of Franz Ferdinand (not overly, though). I think they're pretty good, probably better than Interpol, who they're so often compared to.
-
Has 'Love And Destroy' has anything to do with the book 'Master and Margarita' by the Russian writer Bulgakov? Oh, wait, you might not be right.... At your gig at the QMU, I threw my bra at you. It came undone in the crowd with all the dancing, and I lost all inhibitions and threw it on stage! Oops, nope, there you go. You were right. Whilst I like Franz Ferdinand, I've never quite got how they're "art-rock" as people keep on suggesting they are. Is it enough nowadays to drop words like "constructivist" into interviews and get away with the title of "art-rock"? All I hear is catchy riffs and disco beats.
-
it's not so much thaat the music is art-rock, so much as they are artists who are rockers. More Velvet Underground at Andy's factory than Avant Garde No-Wave. + Talking Heads= Art Rock, and FF sound like Talking Heads, sooooo...
-
Argh, Franz Ferdinand are the most annoying band to emerge in the past ten years. I just don't understand the hype. Am I getting old?
-
I take it that you've made your mind up and haven't seen them live. I hadn't heard of them before I saw them live last August (twice in the span of a few days, in both cases they were the support act) and I was suitably impressed. This was before any release they had so it was pre-hype. a small buzz but no real hype. and i thought they were great to watch, great sound and I am sure I have contributed to the hype by talking them up to anyone interested in new music. there ain't much point in talking them up now though, they seem to be doing just fine without my help. sure, they ain't for everybody but "annoying"? they look like they are having the time of their life when playing live and i am sure that translates into their media image somewhat.
