Coffin Cake. Also, Games Console Wedding Cakes. I don't know which is more disturbing.
  • Hmmm, with he Gamecube being about 3" cubed I am not sure how many people it will feed, a disturbing thought for the host(ess)! However an Xbox cake should be dense and heavy enough to feed a party of any size! BTW, I'll pass on the coffin cake, that's just plain weird!
  • i love it when people get creative with cakes! very cool!
  • I've always wondered what an XBOX tasted like.
  • I make wedding cakes all the time, and if any of my friends - no matter how geeky - asked me to make one of those, I'd tell them to take a hike. I like creativity as much as the next person, but flaunting your inability to be social even at a reception given in your honor is a little bit...help me out, what's the word I'm looking for here?
  • ooo! musing! post pics of the wedding cakes you've baked!
  • I wish I had a scanner - somehow there are always film cameras, not digitals, when I've baked cakes. And I'm too short on cash to buy a scanner, even a cheapie. My favorite cake was for a friend of mine who was an absolute chocoholic and said "to hell with white frosting, I want chocolate - it's my wedding and I should have what I want!" Cool! But it was hard to find a kind of frosting flower that would go well with the chocolate...until I stumbled upon a cool idea. The cake ended up being chocolate cake, chocolate frosting (in 3 different shades of brown) and tigerlilies. It was really quite striking.
  • The coffin cake was just way too odd. I made a Buffy/Angel cake for a friend of mine once, and I thought she was going to pass out, she was so excited about it. Musing, that chocolate cake sounds beautiful! I've always loved the idea of single serving wedding cakes - like the petit fours, decorated like Tiffany boxes or stacked to make tiny wedding cakes, etc. Or even the fancy cupcakes that are so popular these days. Just curious, is that a pain in the rear or not?
  • I still really want a piece of that torso cake (not safe for the squemish)
  • I loved the torso cake. I made a cake for my chef brother-in-law last week in the shape of an oven. That was the most ambitious cake-building effort I have ever made.
  • An out fo focus picture of my brothers wedding cake, yesterday. Yes, that is Han and Leia on the top of the cake...
