Wayne White If you're lucky enough to be in New York, check out Wayne White's exhibition at the Clementine Gallery. White buys cheap trashy paintings at garage sales and thrift stores, and adds his own text, to amazing effect. You may recognise his work from Lambchop's albums. Okay, maybe he's a one-trick pony, but what a trick. [Via http://www.kottke.org].
  • Many, many thanks Blaiseee; I'd never heard of this guy and he knocks my socks off. Makes me want to see him work with Christo to reproduce his 2-d stuff in the real world...
  • This guy could do some serious work with some of Thomas Kinkade's (Painter of Light!) cheesy landscapes. Something about the placement of the text in these paintings unnerves the hell out of me, and that's what I like about it.
