Spot The Fake Smile.
You'll see videos of twenty people's smiles. Decide which ones are fake, which genuine. Check you answers at the end. Discuss. [link swiped from avva]
I'm going to pretend I'm better at this than it came out because I didn't play the videos at first, and plus I wasn't really trying that hard, and anyhow I did better on the last ten than the first ten anyhow, and anyhow I'm very good at this sort of thing, much better than you, certainly, I couldn't possibly have gotten only 12 out of 20 right.

Smile - you're on candid monkey!
-
Ooops. My b.
-
I still love you.
-
All the same, Nos, I feel I should make it up to you all. I give you therefore on similar lines Mouse or Baby Rat?, which I took from Far Outliers. I got 10 out of 12.
-
I got 12 out of 12 on that! I'm pleased with myself! But I must confess, I have higher than average appreciation of animal nuance. Also, I used to have a pet rat. And a mouse lives in my oven. I had a close encounter with it yesterday... Sooo.. heheh No.3 looking over the top of the cage with his little pink hand over the edge is a very clever looking fellow! That was cool!

I didn't see the first Smiles post so I enjoyed this one. But then again, what is a "genuine" smile? Maybe one of the people was not prompted with a joke but thought of something funny anyway. As far as I'm concerned, all of them were genuine smiles, technically. Except maybe that sour Brazilian-looking dude... the one who looks like a roadie for Journey.

9 out of 12 on the rat one.
-
I got 12 out of 12 on the mouse thing as well. I have no idea how... the rats have fatter bottoms, I guess.
-
Couldn't be arsed to do the smiles thing (been there, done that on MoFi--wasn't that interested the first time 'round) BUT THE MOUSE-RAT THING WAS WAAAAY KOOOOOL! Rats just stand out somehow. I think the key is the scaly tails. That, and their ratty little pointed snouts. I do know my rodents.
-
here's a tough one. Is this smile fake or real? :)
-
Certain...its fake!!!
-
damn! you saw right through me! :(
-
14/20 on smiles--I waivered too much, must always go with my instinct. 10/12 on the rodents.
-
Well, you know, he said, running his finger around the rim of his wine class, frowning a little, perhaps in shame, or in concentration, I've never been very good at smiles, I don't trust my own instincts. Then, raising his head high, with a fierce light in his eyes, he cried but I know a baby rat from a mouse! I know my rodents! And no one will ever take that away from me!
