Tom's Temple of MST3K
is a must-see for fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 [official], the decade-long show that aired movies we love to hate. Includes a lavishly-illustrated history of the show, a studio tour, sound bites, and more. Other must-sees: Booyaka's MST3K site is a great launchpad, and thumbs up to MST3UK, probably the most content-packed episode guide I've seen but sadly limited to a third of the episodes. Do you have any favorite MST3K sites?

Thanks rolypolyman! I dearly loved MST3K, especially the Joel years.
-
I only ever had the privilege of seeing MST3K on the Sci-Fi channel, which only had the Mike Nelson episodes. I was quite amused by those, though, and if the Joel eps are better, I can't imagine how often I'd wet myself laughing.
-
MST3K is my God. I prefer Mike, though.
-
I really can't believe that some movie studio hasn't had the MST3k folks do a commentary track their movie as a DVD extra. It would be a great bonus. Especially if it was a movie that has failed at teh box office. I know it would certainly encourage me to buy movies that I normally wouldn't.
-
jccalhoun, I bring you Reefer Madness, with comentary track by Mike Nelson.
-
Agreed, jccalhoun. Though in this culture of "American Idol" and other mass-media crap, I think the legacy of MST3K will remain more dignified and meaningful if it stays underground. I don't think I'd be able to look at MST3K in the same way if the corporate hacks got hold of it.

Tracicle, I highly recommend seeing the MST3K version of Manos, the Hands of Fate. A Joel classic. Mike is funny, but Joel is more bizarre. Admittedly I've seen more of Joel's episodes than Mike's. (Suffered through a Turkey Day Marathon and even saw a few of the pre-cable eps). But it was all over for me once Trace Beaulieu stopped doing Crow T. Robot. The new guy just didn't say "dickweed" with the same gusto. My god I'm a nerd.
-
Werd, shinything. Manos was great, and so was Sidehackers.
-
I've been trying to see Manos for some time, and should have seen it in the US while I had a chance. I'll be back there in January, so hopefully I'll pick it up on DVD then. (Yay for multi-region players!)
-
i feel unusual: I haven't seen Sidehackers yet, but it's on my list now. Looks great! Tracicle: another good one is Gamera! Gamera! Gamera is really neat, Gamera is filled with meat, we've been eating Gamera!

This is the song, written for the train chase This is the chase, Rocky and Ken! He triiied to kill me with a forklift! Olé! I've found MST3K review invaluable. Joel > Mike, but not by much.

I phoned around almost every movie hire place in town last night. Most places hadn't even heard of MST3K, which wasn't surprising, but I did find a place that has the MST3K Movie. Is it any good? I'm going to pick it up today.
-
tracicle, I thought the movie was only *feh* - but I've always been more of a Joel kinda guy.
