Way Cool Computer Animation
- borderline Banana Blue post, but it made me say "wow" out loud here at work. [Quicktime] [via TheMorningNews]
-
WOW, no sound here at work but that was still amazing. [computer generated banana bunch]
-
i wonder how long that took to render...?
-
Pretty good.
-
that was crap. when the camera zoomed in on the rock, you can totally see the wireframe when the rock goes out of focus. i demand a refund! no, really, that was pretty cool... i'm a sucker for realistically rendered 3d environments. of course it's more better when you actually get to explore said environment. preferably with a plasma gun of some sort in hand. and there's zombies or something to make go splatter all over.
-
it made my browser cry. crash. whatever.
-
Pretty cool. Looks like a demo reel for a set of shader plugins. Just shows how far 3D has come. I remember seeing the demo reels for Crystal/Topas/DGS/TDI Explore, 13-14 years ago and boy, GI/HDRI/radiosity and bunch of other things have significantly upped the quality.

A couple of the buildings in there look like something Joel Sanders, editor of Stud, would design.
-
I think these guys also did that fake demo for ipod3 posted a bit back.
-
forks: yep Also of interest is this, which is the desert house portion of the original link, with ambient sound and a little more strangeness.
-
Seen all the goodies back at the time of the ipod3 post, but still... this is the reason I check out the Monkeyhouse
-
neat
-
all work and no play... god this is beautiful
-
How long before I never, ever leave the house...? "But this is HDTV! It's got better resolution than reality!"
