Pandrogenize your Throbbing Gristle
  • W...........T............F???
  • uhhhh. nice. but why did she need breast implants?
  • Off Topic: Why on earth (in Safari but not IE) does the entire body text of any FT article turn red and underlined when I mouse over it? Bug? or feature?
  • On Topic: Perhaps it was easier to edit them both than to reproduce her natural (and therefore irregular) bust on him.
  • So strange! The project to fuse with his wife, has intensified recently, and in the next phase their faces will become more alike. "I've just had my face peeled off and put back. Very bizarre. There's one moment in the video, which Jackie made of the operation, where the surgeon has got my face peeled off at one side, and there's some blood and he wants to get rid of it. He gets a big piece of gauze, wraps it round his hand and shoves his hand into my face, wriggles it round, pulls it out and throws the bloody gauze into the wastebin. It's an incredibly brutal moment, because I think we all feel our face to be the most delicate organ. Now some mornings I look at my face and I'm shocked - I don't know who it is." Just. So. Weird. Part of me feels like he's doing it just because he can. Ick!
  • I always dug these guys. Back in art school in the early 80s they were de rigeur (along with The Residents and Captain Beefheart) in absurdist conceptual noise bands. Of course he is doing it just because he can, bless his little freaky soul. His lifestyle is not for me, but I'm glad someone is out there pushing our uptight bourgeoisie buttons.
  • Eye do not mysse thee unique style ov Psychick TV.
  • "Follow your bliss." --Joseph Campbell
  • Funny guy. Fucking awful band.
  • If anyone is interested, TG are doing a one-off reformation gig next year. Why anyone would be though is beyond me - they were terrible.
  • How awfully silly of him.
  • I thought they did have a couple good songs. I always liked "(We Hate You) Little Girls" (is that what it's called?) and "Blood on the Floor". Hated Psychic TV, loved Coil, decided whatshisface was where the talent was, not the other whatshisface.
  • Dogstar was awful. Throbbing Gristle was good. Genesis is passe. Thus have I spoken.
  • There is some idiot in England who got breast implants, about five years ago. He became some minor celebrity to readers of Loaded. (I can't be arsed to go and search any links out about him though.)
  • I am primarily a fan of Genesis' work with TG but Psychic TV has some moments of brilliance. Genesis at times seemed to envision himself as some messianic figure for underground youth culture, through the Temple of Psychick Youth then through the mid 90s relaunch of The Process. He consistently was popping up on CDs as a guest artist and even was heavily featured in the book that brought body piercing to the mainstream.

Genesis took his role as trend setter a little too seriously, (supposedly) ripped off his TG bandmates for reissue money, and in general seemed much like a pompous asshole rockstar for much of the 90s. I was sort of glad to hear he was being a little girly man and breast-implanted slave. At least it was a return to a personal vision of sorts. Leave it to GPO to be showboating this also.

My preferred TG spinoff has always been coil. This whatshisface is Peter Christopherson and has always been more low-key than GPO and just as groundbreaking.
  • man, some people have WAY too much time & money. Now if you'll excuse me i'm off to finish my 1/100,000 scale model of each contienent replete with population and animals. Out of cheese.
  • What. Crap. Some people will do anything for attention. I refuse to look. Pete: Like some Montery Jack?
  • mmmm after all these years still can't stop listening to "orchids"....h e l p. . .
