Simpsons replica house.
  • Did they construct all the continuity errors in to it as well?
  • And where the hell did the rumpus room come from?
  • Worst. replica. house. ever. /Comic Book Guy
  • I'm curious how it looks today, after it was given away in 1997. It's probably worn down a bit. Or totally redecorated with SEARS furniture.
  • I'm confused about that too, Sundown. Also - is it me, or are all the colours much darker/brighter than in the animation? I seem to remember more pastel, less overwhelmingly dark pink.
  • Creepy.
  • Everything looks (or looked) like a cheap facade, kind of like the renovations they do on those television reality shows.
  • I remember hearing about this but never saw any pics. Thanks.
  • Why is Bart so freaking Huge?
  • Does anyone know who owns it now?
  • It also seems strangely small. I know the cartoon version of the house is not the biggest, but the picture of the exterior didn't click with me as the Simpson estate at all until they said THAT was the house. jb: yeah, I agree - they seem strangely vibrant. I think the rumpus room is the result of Groening never have thought of that space as even existing, and it sure beats a divot into the corner of the house. I would've just walled it off. Continuity can really be a bitch.
  • That house is a disaster. The scale is entirely off and its just hideous. It looks like the whole design was processed through the mind of the most boring architect of all time. The garage is largely housed within the main structure, the entire exterior is one color, the interior rooms seem tiny, but some of that might come from the rather odd perspective of QuicktimeVR. As was said above, the colors are, in general, all off. Interesting post though, I hadn't known about this.
  • I just wanted to see if they'd gotten the carrot-patterned kitchen curtains. It seems they had.
  • Movie clip: Groening points across the street, "This is your house", points back at the Simpsons House, "And this is your house on drugs."
  • Brilliant. Surreal.
  • I'm with Mm; it is wonderful. However, I'm only a casual Simpsons watcher, so I understand your detail/continuity issues; come over to my universe In Trek-land and watch people get mind-bendingly persnickety!
  • what color's your shirt, Diz?
