Damned if you do, damned if you don't... A British medical advisory group has called for fewer C-sections, an issue which the monkeys have discussed in the past. If they were hoping for approval, they're going to be dissapointed, with a blistering assault from Germaine Greer for their problems.

Who'd be an ob/gyn? Apparently, only evil people, regardless of which side you listen to.

  • Germaine Greer is a troll.
  • We've spent centuries making motherhood completely unrewarding; it's too late now to reverse the trend. Yes the article is strongly worded, but I think she has a point. Motherhood itself has become a many-edged sword. You'll have an exhausting labor of unknown length complete with episiotomy, or major abdominal surgery. Friends, family and total strangers won't be shy about sharing their opinion on your choice either, if it was even your choice to begin with. More guilt awaits you in baby books and parenting groups. On a career track? Not any more you're not. Do day care or stay home? One way you're a bad mom, the other you're not a contributing member of society. Saving for your child's education or your retirement? Choose one because both may be out of the question. No wonder more women are electing to have C-sections. It's one of the few parts of the process that may seem controllable.
