Hey, Crackhead!
Average San Francisco Joe has beef with average San Francisco crackhead (via Cruel Site of the Day)

Hehe, great post from Craigslist!
-
ha! loved this. the sheer frustration of having to deal with stuff like this must be... well, enough to make you want to spout out anti-crackhead screed. but the guy has a point. damn crackheads...
-
crackheads (are people / need spark plugs) too

This is exactly the kind of quality of life issue that causes people to abandon cities. I lived in downtown Baltimore a few years ago and loved the proximity to restaurants, bars, all the fun stuff that goes with living downtown. I did not enjoy the aggressive panhandling, crack pipes, tranny hookers and other assorted items that come with city living. So people move to the 'burbs, the cities die, and suburban sprawl spreads across the countryside. Thanks crackheads! Don't forget to overdose!
-
tranny hookers once bitten, twice shy?
-
I thought it was things like jaywalking, subway turnstile jumping, or people drinking beer on their stoops (like my friend's 60 year old mom who got ticketed) that ruins urban living and drives people out of the city. Or is that only in NYC? Golly gee, if only the entire city was like the Upper East Side.
-
the_leviathan, drug use and abuse is equally prevalent in urban and suburban areas. Regarding the tranny hookers, I'll paraphrase Kim Campbell, former Prime Minister of Canada, who observed that if you live in a society in which you are never offended, you aren't living in a very free society.
-
after exploring some of cruel.com, i must consider this a very free society. great article though. how totally frustrating a scenario.
-
i once saw an ad in a small newspaper that said: "To the jerk who broke into my jeep tuesday night - you didn't need to cut the window out, it unzips. And the stereo is worthless without the faceplate. Thanks." yep.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Love it! Classic!

Regarding the tranny hookers, I'll paraphrase Kim Campbell, former Prime Minister of Canada, who observed that if you live in a society in which you are never offended, you aren't living in a very free society. It wasn't that I found the trannies particularly awful, but taken as part of the whole of that neighborhood it was yet another negative. We're not talking humorously eccentric Priscilla Queen of the Desert trannies here who bring light to our dreary little lives and spout pithy aphorisms full of wisdom in bad movies. I'm talking about drug addicts who spent their nights getting cornholed by strangers and screaming at the tops of their lungs in the alley behind my apartment at 3 AM. One of them carjacked a guy I worked with. And I understand that democracies are often piles of blooming buzzing chaos. But there's a difference between rich experience and a colossal pain in the neck. City living is usually the latter, thanks to the scum that tend to settle around the urban drain. Argue all you want; until these neighborhoods can clean up the crime most people won't want to live there.
-
Maybe the sparkplug stealer wasn't a crackhead at all. Maybe it was someone in the area that didn't like this guy and his noisy motorbike and shitty SF "I'm an Engineeer!" attitude. Just thinkin'. And Leviathan, clean up the crime and most people can't afford to live there. Where is the "scum" supposed to settle then? Face it, in a society like ours some win and some lose. You hope to be a winner, but you can't expunge the losers or the "scum" as you put it. You can only push them into someone else's neighborhood. And please, don't blame the democracy. If it really worked, it would work for the "scum" too. After all, there's bound to more of them in this pyramid scheme we've got going. Count your blessings that they're too busy killing themselves to vote.
-
I wasn't blaming democracy. I was responding to ambrosia's comment that tolerant pluralistic societies often produce things that are a little unpleasant. clean up the crime and most people can't afford to live there... Dear God, does that mean we consign the poor to living in a hellhole? Sorry to wax liberal (I know it's out of character) but everyone deserves a shot at a decent life and a good place to live. I'm talking about cleaning out the scum, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Crackheads who rip off spark plugs are filthy little morlocks who need to go ahead and expire.
-
umm...what's a morlock? do we have them in canada? is it kim campbell's fault?
