Antique Toasters! New Antique Stoves & Refrigerators! everything for the kitsch kitchen my favorites are the toasters though
  • Supercalifradgulistic finds, p! I like the shiny toasters too; I'm restoring my kitchen back to its original 1938 glory (a really bad year for Europe, but excellent for domestic design, by the way,) and just bought an original O'Keefe & Merritt black enameled double oven-range on e-Bay. I came thisclose to buying a repro fridge but the interior was too small... Ahh, kitchen talk. Don't get me started...
  • {banana, served with peanut butter, on toast} Don't miss the very silly trope on the Maillard reaction, as linked from the 1900 opening quote.
  • I thought a "Maillard reaction" was what happened when you pinched a duck. Sorry.
  • exceptionally silly, thanks goetter! Toast is just one of those magical foods . . I worked on a movie with Peter Frampton. Peter Frampton is a musical legend, but I don't know his body of work, so I had to think of something to say. "Hey Peter Frampton, do you like toast too? As do I. It is warm and crispy. And the perfect place for jelly to lay. Now get away from me Frampton, I got shit to say to you!" --Mitch Hedberg
  • Super find, pete! I wouldn't mind having one of those lime-green fridgidaires...
  • Oh! I want the Gazelle toaster. IwantitIwantitIwantit!
  • Those stoves and refrigerators are FABULOUS!!!
  • Did anyone read the toaster forums? There's an entire thread on putting poop in a toaster. I do want one of those refrigerators.
  • My poop is plenty toasty already, thankyou.
  • No, no, it's the double oven stove that's important. Especially if it has a grill on the top, in between the rows of burners. Cooking heaven! Dizzy, you are the king of taste!
  • Path-- Your kind words honor me. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I'll make you lunch and we can talk appliances.
  • this might not go in your kitchen Diz, but it would definitely be welcome in mine - The Honeywell 316 Kitchen Computer! 1965. $10,000. Awwwww yeah.
