Dreampets Are Here. Resistance Is Futile.
  • Hawaiian Hound is mine!!!!!
  • Semper Fidelis has buck-toothed appeal.
  • Mimi Octopus: "Always Kind (especially to sailors)"; "Every day is Mardi Gras"; "I'm very hands on!"... I swear I've seen that card in a phonebox.
  • i am non-plussed. a.k.a., sober.
  • how can they call these "the original stuffed toy" from 1957 when teddy bears have been around for far longer? hmmm.
  • Because Teddy Bears are REAL. Everybody knows that, Dishy.
  • it's too early in the morning to think about soft, stuffed, cuddly little bed things.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • i'm confused. it's a bunch of ugly stuffed toys. what's the big deal, what do they do, why are they worth mentioning...? and why is resistance futile...? they seem completely resistable to me.
  • Because within 18 months the spin-offs and tie-ins will be so ubiquitous, because they are being actively marketed to adults as fetish-memory items and not really as toys per se, because I thought the site was shiny and slick, because other people seem to dig them, because.
  • i've never seen them before, what generation were they originally targetted to...? is this something i'd have to be an american to remember...?
  • I'm 41, and an American raised in the South-West, and remember a couple of them from when I was five or so, in '66. I think some were "give-aways" or "premiums" for other products, such as cereals and school supplies...
  • i'm 42, and was in mid west canada back then, definitely don't remember them, altho' looking at them with a 60's eye they have a sort of rankin-bass look to them... weird that they call themselves the original stuffed toy, since that's clearly not accurate.
  • i am non-plussed. Pete_best: I'm sorry you don't have a stuffed buddy. Maybe I could box up and send my youngest grandkid's fuzzy-wuzzy widdle bunny wabbit for your very own. It's only a little peed on. (I'm confused. Anybody besides pete see a Plussed animal in this collection?)
  • Okay Diz, thinking of adults having a fetish about these things is, well, clearly I've been on the Internet too long...
  • t r a c y; Bulls-eye and a pack of Pop-Tarts for the "Rankin-Bass" reference; doesn't the Hippo look like "Peter Potamus" from the Hanna-Barbera stable of the 60's?
