Welcome to Tessellation World, M. C. Escher-type works by Makoto Nakamura Nakamura takes it several steps further. Impressive work, especially for anyone who is a fan of Escher's.

  • Intricately interlocked bananas, without a doubt. niccolo, there was quite a nice tesselation program on the Escher Interactive CD Rom (plus the complete works of Escher). Unfortunately I don't think it's still available new. But there seem to be several similar bits of kit available on the Web (try searching on 'tesselation'). Alas, even with this kind of help it's still difficult (or perhaps I'm just talentless).
