Terrafly. "Fly" over the continental USA via scrolling animated aerial photographs.

Java required. Works best using Windows IE browser, whatever that means. Throttles client connections (in terms of duration, data transfer rate, and GIS features) for freeloading users, strongly so during business hours. Essentially USA-only.

  • I remember the big hoopla when Terraserver posted aerial photos of Area 51. Just about caused a meltdown of their server from the amount of hits they got. Unfortunately now they've sold the images off. ::shrugs:: Cool link! [banana]
  • Its very cool, thanks. In case anyone is having the trouble I did, it doesn't work in Opera.
  • I LOVE this! I'd love it better if it was current for the area I live in. Our house is about three years old, doesn't show up on the pictures. Still very cool.
