Cranberry Sauce? Thirty-eight (or so) years have passed since Paul did same, say some.

In light of today's Beatallica and ukelele threads and the miniature Beatles discussion going on in the recent Kurt Cobain thread, I though these links might be of interest (I'm quite sure a few of them have been filtered, boinged, pooled, or whatever in years past. Sorry). Besides, I think everyone should be aware that "Yoko Ono is a spy of the foreign office."

  • Oh, and the second to last link has a midi. Sorry.
  • baby, that last link was freeee-KAY. I am totally swearing off hallucinogens now. seriously. that's messed up. and my tv keeps levitating.
  • Yay! Now the Beatle-jacking need no longer be a jacking! Well, not of the sort related to what terrorists do anyways. Because you know those fundamentalists would never... NO. I WILL NOT DERAIL ANOTHER WELL INTENTIONED MUSIC POST. And that last link scared me.
  • Faul was always my favourite Beatle.
  • We have a Beatles thread!!! C'mon Captain, let's jack it up... ...well, later tonight, after dinner and such. :) This is a great post too, I love the Paul is dead theories, I just think they're great fun.
  • I've kissed the girl in beatles [/derail]
  • A goblin universe.
  • I've been hearing this same urban legend for over 35 years now...and I still don't understand how anyone ever believed it. What are the chances that a celebrity of Paul McCartney status could be replaced with an impostor that: 1. Looked just like Paul (enough to fool almost everyone who knew him and wasn't 'in on it') 2. Talked just like Paul 3. Sang just like Paul 4. Played bass (LEFT HANDED!) like Paul AND...his wife either went along with it or didn't know about it (I've heard both versions) AND...nobody who was in on it has ever revealed the secret. I love a good conspiracy theory, but this one is asinine.
  • Okay, I had time to go over those links in detail. Really great stuff. The first one is hilarious, written in this falsely hysterical tone. The wiki page is absurd in its refusal to deal with anything but solid fact, and ends with the sublimely insane comment that: As of 2004, the Beatles known to be dead are John Lennon (murdered outside of the Dakota building in New York City) and George Harrison (died of cancer). I also love that someone registered "turnmeondeadman.net" That fucking rocks. And I'd never seen that cover of Life magazine. Excellent. And rocket88, I think you had to "be there", as it were. There was a lot of strife surrounding the Beatles and there was so much mass hysteria generally surrounding them. And so it got out of hand. Today, it just seems like fun. And I think the wife is the best clue - shortly after the "death", he broke up with Jane Asher and started dating Linda, a very different woman than Jane was. Which is at least fun to speculate about. :) Argh, I stayed on topic! Derailment...Ringo's my favourite drummer of all time. Discuss if I'm insane, privy to inside information, or just a bit kooky.
  • livii I think we need a new thread. That scary link up there gives me the jibblies. >set lights=on
