City of the Monkey God - Lost City Discovered in the Honduran Rain Forest. Searching for the legendary “City of the Monkey God,” explorers find the untouched ruins of a vanished culture.
  • These rain forests look so thick. Are they so thick that someone could hack their way through a lost ancient city and not even be aware that they are walking among ruins? These things obviously aren't usually visible from the air. It ironically strikes me that one of the ways someone would most likely even notice these ruins would be through deforestation. Obviously, I am not recommending that as a tool to find lost civilizations. Have deforestation efforts actually led to any/many important archeological discoveries?
