When something like this goes unupdated for a very long time, you have to wonder...
-
This is excellent. Cheers, forks...
-
dng, you're like my private cheering section. God bless.

It's a secret plot, forks. dng is just putting us all at ease so we don't suspect - no one is really that nice. Shhh...he might be listening. Very interesting - but I have to ask the obvious question: what's a railgun? /not allowed to play with explosives
-
A Railgun (not to be confused with a Gauss gun, which is another name for a coil gun), is a form of gun that converts electrical energy into projectile kinetic energy, rather than the more conventional chemical energy from an explosive propellant. They use the force produced by a magnetic field to propel a projectile that is initially part of the current path. The current flowing through the rails sets up a magnetic field. The current flows through the projectile perpendicularly to the current in the rail. Conveniently, this allows the resultant force to direct the projectile along (parallel to) the rails. Its a cool science fiction gun, basically.

And I'm always listening, jb. *smiles creepily*

They're real? I thought it was just something they made up for Unreal Tournament
