The history of April Fool's Day. Many people 'celebrate' April Fool's Day in various ways (most of them annoying). What are some of the better April Fool's pranks you've seen or experienced?

Around the net, fark gets in on the fun. So does ThinkGeek. And, as we just saw, others are having their fun. Happy April Fool's Day. Hope you don't get burned.

  • Huntigowk is the Scottish version of April Fool, it says here. But Mrs Plegmund, who grew up in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, has never heard of it.
  • My birth was the best April Fools prank that I know of. Of course it's gets very Meta and we all know that Meta is having problems today.
  • Huntigowk is better known in some quarters as Gowkin' Day, though I favour All Fools Day, myself. April 1st is also known as Loki's Day, Intolerance Day, April Noddy Day and -- *drumroll* -- Aspen/Snowmass Banana Season begins, and a host of other names most folk have never heard of.
