On photographing army ants
- being a short treatise on the importance of rubber and benadryl.
(and on the importance of using preview - the original said on the importance of a rubber and benadryl - close call)
-
I'd go with the Remote Control Ant Cam myself (didn't Letterman use to do a schtick with one of those?)
-
Hmmm,
a a rubber still might not be a bad idea... It’s best to approach slowly and avoid breathing near the ants. I've noticed there's only so long you can avoid breathing. And I'm sure screaming produces plenty of CO2. -
Crap, no underline. Darn that tiny preview button, anyway.
-
Hey! Tiny preview is my friend!

Also, Mark Moffett, the "Jane Goodall of Ants".
-
I was introduced to the tiny argentine ants that Moffett mentions forming a colony 560 miles long in California. No wonder we couldn't beat them.
