NOM NOM NO NO Proudly controversial webcomicker Zach Weiner's "Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal" did a comic that the anti-gay "National Orginization for Marriage" interpreted as showing a 'technological threat to traditional marriage', so they put it on their blog (currently down), by 'hotlinking' it. So Weiner changed the image (totally SFW).
  • It's currently up, and showing the original cartoon. Looks like they cached a copy of the image.
  • Time heals all self-inflicted wounds. But that's why I linked where Weiner put up a screengrab. His supporters are now pushing him to take legal copyright action over the copying, but he feels he has made his point and wants to move on.
  • Hotlinking? Help me out here... If code like this is used to call up a picture here from a different website: img src="blah,blah,blah/">
  • Or must we always download an image to our own computers and then upload to Flickr or something before posting it (here)?
  • Hey, Dan. I'm just guessin' here, but I'm thinking this as less about "hey, jerks, quit yoinkin' my artwork," and more about "you wanna use my pic on your homophobe homepage? try this one, suckaz!"
  • Dan Folkus: I always upload or copy to flickr etc before linking personally. There's been infinite hotlinking on MoFi with no sneaky switches that I can recall...
  • Thanks for the clarification, Stomper, and a big thanks to the Monkeybashi for the definitive answer <:(!)
