Thanks for the idea BlueHorse. At least I'll light off some fireworks... But I see that in Exeter Pennsylvania, last year they celebrated May Day with fireworks on the 16th for some reason. Maybe it's because they wanted to give Nature a bigger part in the show. Note the lightning strike!

Thousands of people turned out to watch the pagan-inspired spring rituals at the annual Beltane Fire Festival.

At five minutes to midnight I had my bottle rocket all set up and pointed at the sky. A nearly full golden moon was poking through the trees to the east. The rocket swooshed up toward the north and exploded into a gentle swarm of bees. May this summer bring us peace, health and plenty!

Japanese Taiko drummers are to join this year's spring rituals at the annual Beltane Festival in Edinburgh. Mugen Taiko Dojo
