Film is a lying media. Cows remember.
Do you like to impersonate Werner Herzog at home? Sure you do. How about Philippe "Man on wire" Petit? That's fun too.
Well, here’s Herzog + Petit.
Two heroes of mine, and tons of fun to impersonate.

If you haven't seen "Man on Wire," yet, do.

I second that. High entertainment!

It's a testament that Werner Herzog and the Frenchman Philippe Petit are such close friends, since Werner will only speak French when forced at gun point. Does this mean that the great auteur is hypersensitive? After seeing him actually GET shot, I'd say not. Plus, a man who keeps his word even to jump onto a cactus, or to eat his own shoe may as well take up tight rope walking next!

MonkeyFilter: Werner Herzog never liked a coward! Did I do that right, bluehorse?
-
Well done, Dan!!

It's always good to see our heroes from outside their myths. Criterion has Les Blank's and Maureen Gosling's "Burden of dreams."
