HOLY. HELLSEENFROMABOVE. That is awesome.
-
This view from orbit is my favorite of the whole bunch. It looks as if the plume has punctured the clouds and carried one white cloud up with it. Fine and good. But not quite as weird an orientation as this astrological view of myth shrouded Popocatepetl erupting near Mexico City.
-
OMG! That astrological link about the stars seen through the volcanic smoke is a claim that the cosmos had just installed George W. Bush, the so-called compassionate conservative in Washington! The eruption happening on the eve of the final vote of the Electoral College, no less (I finally read through this wild panegyric). As the fellah says: Simultaneously, the constellation of the donkey (Democrats) fell under the smoke as Orion, the constellation of conservatism, (Republicans) sat above the smoke... as the new president elect has said, "Things happen for a reason." I'm going back to the views from Outer Space, where men are at least put into their proper perspective!
-
Couldn't read all of that astrological view stuff. Too far out into woo-woo land for me.

Obsidian has more clarity, Shirley!
-
Surely!
-
Surely do wish someone would show us a slab of obsidian now. Volcanic glass, preferably with a horse drawn on it! Because on second thought, the view from space doesn't have a fine enough resolution to REALLY put us all in perspective. Couldn't we just see one of your stones now, BlueHorse?

Iceland's disruptive volcano

Whoa! Now THAT'S Mutha Earth. Don't mess with her, folks. Beautiful pics, homunculus. Thanks for the update. Between the meteor and the volcano, I think I'm headed for bed to pull the covers over my head.
