  • Coincidental you should post this, as I watched Wolverine in the weekend, and noticed that cliché once again, where Logan walks away from the exploding chopper, smoking a cigar. It's probably some phallic allegory.
  • I think it has more to do with them wanting the capture the explosion and the hero in the same shot. If the hero is facing the explosion, then it would be difficult to put the hero in the same shot as the explosion. As a practical matter, you also would not want to get hit in the face with something flying out of the explosion. Having your back to the explosion is probably the safest way to experience the explosion.
