"The bottom line is that he was there at the beginning of so much cool stuff in so many different areas it's not funny". Glen E. Friedman, considered one of the most important photographers of his generation, became well known for working with such rebellious artists as Fugazi, Black Flag, Ice-T, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Misfits, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Run-D.M.C, KRS-1, and Public Enemy, as well as old school skateboarders like: Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Alan "Ollie" Gelfand, Duane Peters, and Stacy Peralta, among others.
  • "One of the greats of his generation." "The most prolific photographer of his generation." "The esoteric political and aesthetic conscience of his generation..." DAMMIT!! Will they cut that out already? I'm feelin' old.
  • Hey goetter, your comment reminds me of an exchange I heard a few years ago in one of those trendy-hipster shops here in SF. Clerk is chatting with a friend who is visiting her at work. Radio is playing in background, a Depeche Mode song. Clerk asks friend if she is going to the upcoming Depeche Mode concert. Friend replies "No way! Wrong demographic." Clerk asks what she means by that. Friend replies, "It will be all, you know, people over 30." I was *so tempted* to whirl around and say "hey! be nice! you'll be 30 before you know it!" Instead I just slunk out, feely slightly deflated and suddenly old.
