• LA Time has a knock-out photo of Mr. Montalban... And there dies a small part of my childhood. .

• Aw, boo. How sad. I was a little too young or out of the loop to see much Fantasy Island but I liked the little I did see. .
• No, no, no, it was Corinthian leather. The car was the Chrysler Cordoba (not, as one might expect, the Córdoba).
  
  But you're probably too young to know about all that, I expect. Hand me my liniment.
• Also, seems to me that whether today was a good or bad day won't be known for certain until one sees which future luminaries happened to be born on this date, and whether they outweigh (figuratively) our losses.
  
  Perhaps we could start a birthpool, with a certain number of points being awarded each time one of those newborns wins a Pulitzer Prize, sequences a critical bit of genome, or has a platinum-selling hip-hop single.

• LOL, there's no such thing as "Corinthian Leather". Also, the Chrysler ad calls that car "little". I could fit 3 of my car into its backseat. Goodbye, Mr. Montalban. I hope where you are spending eternity is more hospitable than Ceti Alpha V.
• Montalban is in every cormach mccarthy novel i've ever read. no way he can he be dead. A man with dry crosote for hair can not die.
