Obama's Playlist
It's been confirmed that President-Elect Obama's first foreign trip as President Obama will be to Canada, reinstating a long tradition. While visiting Presidents have often given speeches to the Canadian public (tv and radio clips), this time we're going to give the President a little musical education, and you can help by voting for the top 49 songs to showcase Canada.
Vote once a day from now through Friday Jan. 16th; I won't encourage you to vote any specific way, mainly because Section A has too many incredible songs to pick from... (though I will say that if Michael Bublé makes it on the list from Section D and Oscar Peterson doesn't, I'm going to crack some heads!)

Can I just say my sister loves Michael Bublé? Personally I'm putting Celine at the top of my list.
-
Well, they've rounded up most of the usual suspects but Walter Ostanek seems a glaring omission. (I'll be looking to crack some heads too if Oscar ain't on the list, livii)
-
There's quite a few missing that I would have liked to see there, but I didn't nominate any, so I guess it's on my own head. I agree an Ostanek song would have been great. We saw him perform once at Oktoberfest in Kitchener-Waterloo and he was amazing, just amazing. Nothing against Bublé, but he's up against Oscar Peterson, for crying out loud!

Huge big yay for The Guess Who, but gosh, there's a lot of things on there I'd never even heard of. *goes to learn more about Canadian music*
