The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London,
the largest Hindu temple outside India.
There are some excellent photos of the temple in the photo gallery.

Don't look that big to me.. (and I seen all the *big* ones).

But, it looks like all the good ones...

Hinduism is quite a cool religion. Depending on which sect path you take, I guess. What I like about it is they don't hang shit on other religions. Much like the Sikhs. None of this our book better than your book, shit. No bend fold or mutilate those unbelievers from a neighbouring state. (yes, I know Hindus just as guilty as the rest of religious intolerance, just allow me my final illusions please)

I just wish they had added some text to the images for those of us who aren't well versed. I'm unlikely to get to the temple, but the photographs are beautiful, making we want to understand more about the thoughts behind them.

I should just add I have been to this temple and it truly is outstanding. Photos don't do it justice.

So lush and colourful, a feast for the eyes. Thanks, dng, for a most interesting post.

Truly beautiful. I can't believe how little the entrance fees are, especially with that guidebook. If I lived near something like this, I would be tempted to go quite often.
