50 Strange Buildings of the World.
Stolen from da blue.
-
Some local examples: Toronto City Hall Holy Ukrainian Catholic Church (and self-link) House on Coxwell Ave. Bata Shoe Museum And I found another collection of strange houses.
-
Every public library should be required to look like the Kansas City one.
-
You list Toronto examples and don't include OCAD?
-
I like to pretend it doesn't exist. Ditto U of T's Grad House.
-
Lucy the Elephant was built in 1881 in New Jersey, while in Tai Chung, Taiwan there's a monastery built to resemble a seated Buddah. But then, would not the Statue of Liberty also count as a sort of a wierd house?
-
A strange mixture of the innovative, the visually pleasing, and the outright wtf. The one referred to as the "Mind House" in Barcelona is the spire(?) of the gate house at Parc Guell.
-
I remember a car wash shaped like a whale in the Town of Niagara, but on googling it seems to be gone.
-
#7 and #18 are my favourites. The funkiest building in town here (at work) is probably this one, which I just passed on my way back from lunch.
-
I want that stone house, badly...
-
That KC library must be recent-ish construction. I lived there for a year, went to UMKC for a term, and knew nothing about it. If I had, I would have never left it.
