Preserved Onion:
In a hidden corner of The Onion's site is an "archival" issue from 1783: eight pages of pseudo-historic goodness, fully searchable by page and topic! Of interest: Alexander Hamilton Challenges Nation to a Duel; Thomas Paine on women; Satan Afflicts Townsfolk With Series Of Ploughing Mishaps; Opera Lyrics Blamed In Spate of Regicides.
I know linking to The Onion is silly because everyone reads it anyway, but this bit is so unobtrusive, and yet has clearly had so much work put into it, that I thought I'd link it. There are radio-style audio files at the bottom of the page, too. Enjoy!

I've never really enjoyed The Onion much, but for some reason this was quite pleasing. I must be getting old. Oh, wait. Damn!

That was a good giggle. Loved the Thomas Paine bit, because I've always sort of imagined Thomas Paine that way anyhow.

Speaking of archival Onion articles: Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over' published January 17, 2001. Eerie. [via]

Yeah, that last bit was quite eerie.
