More people over the age of 65 are going online.
An interesting article from The New York Times Online (requires free registration) about the growing trend of individuals over the age of 65 going online; some of the questions asked are whether or not the technology tends to increase isolation or foster relationships both locally and over distances. The article tends towards accepting the latter as do I.

Interesting. Thanks DrMoxie. My 'rents are over 65 and love email and the web, although only my Mum has the patience to mess with the iMac when it's on the blink. Me Pappy claims to be a Luddite. He's the only Luddite I know of who reads The Onion regularly. If anyone needs it, applebanana8/applebanana8 is a monkey-appropriate NYT login courtesy of Bug Me Not, courtesy of Mofi's Mackerel.

It's funny how the idea of a Killer App is just as powerful to older newbies... but what different forms that takes. Case Study: My dad had absolutely no interest in the web until I showed him that eBay had 2000+ hits for 'Studebaker'.
